House of Hope - Thailand

BASIC (Brothers and Sisters in Christ) Mission Society has, for over 20 years, reached out to the Hmong people in Thailand. Animism is the religion of the Hmong. They have a natural knowledge of God and understand the Devil as their enemy, and more and more Hmong are seekers, becoming either Buddhist or Christian.

The best time to reach people with the Gospel is when they are young. The best methods to reach people with the Gospel message are teaching and personal relationships.  While the Thai government provides education up to 6th grade in the rural Hmong villages, students must move to larger towns for high school and college education.

House of Hope is a campus that reaches out to students with academics and the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a Christian environment, preparing students for employment and higher education, teaching life skills and English as they share the love of Jesus.

Over the course of eight years, Mike Mieritz and others have paid for and physically built new buildings at House of Hope to replace older, run-down structures. Last year Pastor John Hobbins and Ayak Deng joined Mike to journey to Ban Tha Wang Pa to teach English, build and repair facilities, teach salvation through Jesus, and baptize those who request it.

Zion will again send a team to Thailand to be the heart and hands of Jesus to young people who truly need our help. Support this ministry with gifts in the Mission Envelopes.
