With the new Young Star rating program in the State of Wisconsin, both centers underwent major improvements including staff development and physical repairs to get ready for the visits required to rate the centers. Young Star is used to rate centers in multiple areas such as Teacher/Director qualifications, learning environment, business practices and health and wellness. It is with great pleasure and pride to announce that TLC was awarded with a 3 star level.

Our child care program has been in operation since 1977, and were originally located inside Zion Lutheran Church before expanding to the current Tender Loving Care location on Josslyn Street. We put lots of love into quality care and are licensed to provide care for children from ages 6 weeks through to 12 years old. Our services include full and part time care, kindergarten, before and after school program, and a summer school-age program. We also provide a bus service for transporting school children to and from school. We emphasize the creative, social, intellectual, cognitive and physical growth of each child. Opportunities are provided in the teacher’s written lesson plans to meet each of these needs daily using developmentally appropriate programming practices. We strive toward the full development of the child in attaining positive self-image, accepting the differences of others, as well as helping children establish and attain these goals. In providing a non-threatening environment for children to be guided through learning experiences, we foster a sense of security, acceptance, encouragement, and challenge for each individual. This is accomplished through varied and planned activities such as art time, group time, and field trips. Our program is State Licensed and includes an individualized curriculum, nutritious meal and professional, licensed instructors.
