What to expect

Zion is famous for its amazing building on Sawyer St. close to Titan Stadium. The church complex is designed to be used as much as possible not just by church groups but by the community. At the building’s center is a beautiful sanctuary. The intention from the start was that at the center of the life of the congregation the Word of God would be faithfully taught and the sacraments faithfully administered. To this day and perhaps more than ever, the Word of God incarnate, the Word of God written, and the Word of God preached and taught is central to the life of Zion.

Zion is open to people of all backgrounds. We have four services: on Saturday at 5 pm, and on Sunday, at 8 am and 9:30 am. We welcome all who would serve the crucified Lord whom God has raised from the dead. Communion is open to all those baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We have several different services. Our 5:00 PM service on Saturday evenings are casual with traditional liturgy and hymns. Held in the chapel.  On Sunday mornings we offer a traditional service at 8:00 AM. At 9:30 AM a blend of traditional and contemporary service with hymns along with music lead by the praise band.

Zion has two services of refugees from numerous African nations. One of the services meets in the morning between 11:00am and 2:00pm, and is conducted in Swahili and English. The afternoon service starting at 3:00pm is a Sudanese community worshiping in Arabic, Dinka, and English. African worship service.

Sermons are all Biblical based. You will go home with practical information from God’s Word that will encourage you in your relationships with God, and others in your life.

Most visitors and members wear casual dress clothes or jeans. We appreciate modesty but you can dress up or down – whatever you are comfortable with.

Ushers and sometimes a pastor with greet you at the door with a smile!  Feel free to introduce yourself, sign the Visitor Book and please do not hesitate to ask any questions you may have.

We enjoy seeing the children worshipping with their families at all services.

Most families with children attend the 9:30 service. We are seeking to help families with them in worship.

After the 9:30 AM service all are welcome to meet in the Lounge for coffee, hot chocolate and treats. This is a wonderful time of fellowship and a time to sit and relax or mingle.
